Sausage Rolls

When Clara finally stopped waiting and decided to go after what she wanted, she didn’t show up empty-handed. Her still-warm sausage rolls made their way into a picnic basket meant to say: I care. I’m here. I brought snacks. He might’ve been distracted by her smile, but these flaky, savory parcels helped seal the deal.

  • 500g minced meat of your choice
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 1 tsp dried sage
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1 egg
  • Salt & pepper
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).

  2. Mix sausage, onion, sage, mustard, salt, pepper, and one egg.

  3. Roll out pastry, fill and fold into logs. Slice into bite-size rolls.

  4. Brush with egg wash. Bake 25–30 mins.
